May is Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, a month recognizing the achievements and contributions of Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans in the United States. In June 1977 Reps. Frank Horton of New York and Norman Y. Mineta of California, introduced a resolution to proclaim the first ten days of May as Asian-Pacific Heritage Week. In 1990 President George H. W. Bush extended the 10-day celebration to a month-long celebration, and in 1992 the official designation of May as Asian-Pacific American Heritage Month was signed into law.
We celebrate the Asian Americans and Pacific Islander Americans who have chosen Georgia as their place to do business. This week we recognize our MBE Supreme Resources, Inc. Established in 1988 as a company specializing in providing a seamless supply chain for chemical raw materials, Supreme Resources paired their goals of providing competitive service for reliable import, transport, and manufacturing with high-quality customer service based on a mutual respect and business integrity.
They recognized early on the prospects Asia offered for sourcing chemicals, and by 2002 they were partnering with specialty chemicals manufacturing in China. This allowed them to expand their options to offer our customers custom-made solutions for their particular needs. They were at the forefront of business processing outsourcing—offering it to our customers years before it became a buzzword among consultants and the business media.
From there they have gone on to form partnerships ranging from global healthcare and personal care brands, insuring supply chain consistency, to partnerships with wood products, paper, and auto component manufacturers to launch new projects, lower cost, and align product performance with requirements.
In 2006, Supreme moved to their current headquarters in Suwanee, giving them the space to triple their staff in the following 5 years.
Today, they continue to add new dimensions of value to our customers through new capabilities in marketing, procurement & logistics outsourcing, and supply chain solutions across North America, Europe, Latin America and Asia.
